And how was your weekend?

As always, full of the little things that make me smile; of the many highlights, a sunny drive across LA down Wilshire Blvd, a super fun show at the Echo with the musical stylings of the Crocodiles, who, might I add, closed their set with a cover of one of my many favorite songs: Last Caress by the Misfits, sung by DeeDee of the DumDum Girls; and then there was Saturday night, full of chocolate red wine- yes, you heard me, and then more drinks at the Que Sera, ending the night at the V Room drinking to a farewell to a friend heading east...So long Steve....

Well, such great timing to fall in love, as they are releasing a new album this spring, which means they'll be on tour, which means I'll have to go see them....

The 9-5 thing- another Tuesday at work...and then I'm reminded how much I love my job- meetings punctuated with chocolate cake, gourmet food trucks for dinner with one of my bestest friends and how I really wish I were good at wearing liquid eyeliner....

So, I can't even begin to tell you how much I adore the White Album...so much I rock out to it every day!!!

It's been stuck on my record player for a coupla months now- actually, that's a lie. I remove it from time to time when I pick up a new record from Fingerprints....but then it just manages to make its way right back and it usually gets stuck for quite some time, but geeez!!!! I think there may be something wrong with you if you can't enjoy this album....But that's up for debate I guess...

Today is Friday!!!!!! Fun times ahead...

Yesterday was soooo much fun...so full of frivolous activity: after AM coffee, a half day at work to see a live taping of the Conan O'Brien show with some friends, italian food and whiskey for lunch, and more whiskey for a happily drunk afternoon in Los Angeles....and a bit of words to live by while I'm at it....

For Christmas, one of my bestest girlfriends made me a mix cd- which, by the way is one of my most favorite gifts to receive- anyway- this dear friend by the name of Katie knows me so well, she put a Carole King song on the mix that I CAN'T STOP LISTENING TO....sooo goood!! You know, one of those songs that was playing in the background of your childhood, and then you hear it as an adult and it's all too familiar, but this time you actually turn it up instead of dismissing it as part of whatever your mom's listening to and realize the song is actually good (well not all the time but most of the time).....

Yeap- so I've been dancing 'round my apartment, keeping warm with Carole King blaring from my speakers...Thank you Katie Frederich!!! This is for you!

So, I thought it'd be fun to document la vie quotidienne via little comic strip sketches from my sketchbook, or maybe they'll be compiled on whatever I can scratch a little illustration on....

Either way, you can take a look at what I've been up to in the form of a comic strip....as lately I've been into doodling my thoughts instead of writing them down...and, I think it's much more fun to look at a hand drawn illustration rather than read a Facebook status update- although, this won't stop me from updating my status....

So, the idea is a panel, maybe every couple of days, of little quick drawings of my day-to-day business, some highlights, sometimes thoughts/ ideas, and maybe dreams, just maybe....And the title, well, I don't think it needs explanation, but if you know me, you know that it's the 'ordinary' things that get me- that make me smile, that make me happy, that make me sigh...

Anyway, here's the first installment of: Ordinary is Extraordinary...

favorite songs of 2010...

I finally finished compiling my favorite songs of 2010! Late, of course, but I had to make the artwork, and I DO have 3 jobs, so it took me a while to think of something Sabrina-ish to draw/ arrange, so what's more appropriate than an illustration of ME listening to all these great songs that came out this past year?!?

And, making lists is kinda fun....

So, below is a list of all the songs I carefully picked and arranged on a CD, it wasn't easy mind you, for, if you know me, you know how difficult it is for me even to decide what I'm having for lunch sometimes....
So, please keep in mind that this collection is not referred to: 'best of...' as this is a matter of MY opinion. So, instead, I referred to it as Sabrina's favorite songs of 2010, as all the songs listed are songs I listened to over and over and over, some had me shaking a tailfeather, and some just fuckin' blew me away...but that's just me- to each his own, you know?
Anyway, if you'd like to actually hear these songs, I will gladly send one out to you, album artwork and all, on a CD, snail-mail style, if you leave me yr address....
