The reflection begins..... 

I finally compiled a playlist of my favorite songs of 2012.

Soooo, I'm no music critic here, as I did NOT title this playlist: 

Best Songs of 2012.

This is only a playlist of songs I listened to the most, so much in fact,

that I kinda got over some of the songs after hitting repeat so many times,

but as I was putting this list together, I remembered why 

I listened to them over and over and over...

So..... despite my delayed interest in the holiday season,
I managed to get it together and compose
this card,
which I mailed,
and am still mailing to friends and loved ones....

I think it captures the essence of this year for me: me and chaton, in good spirit (wine in hand all year long), the casual stance of chaton and I, the keep-it-cool stare, and don't forget the poppy- state flower of California- to remind you of my LOVE for this lovely city that people seem to really enjoy raggin' on.....

Anywhoot....I'll get all reflective on you in a coupla days.....

I'd like to take a moment here to divulge into one of my favorite things from one of my favorite peeps...
Remember...? this month is all about being reflective and shit (pardon my french mom).....

One of my favorite things, as you may know if you're one of my peeps is that I loooooooove music;
in particular, I loooooooooove mix cd's, compiled of songs selected specifically for me; songs that one thinks I will love sooo much, or songs I just have to hear because they love them so much...

Many a peeps have made me mix cd's, but this one guy,
he made probably the BEST mixes ever! He was always soooo good at finding songs I hadn't heard yet, or really great remixes, oldies you kinda forgot about...arranged in a thoughtful order for my listening pleasure...
And then I'd gush over my least favorite, my most favorite, yadda yadda yadda....
....mix cd's....
probably one of the best things ever.
Maybe it sounds a bit juvenile to you, but to me, like I mentioned-
probably one of the best things ever.
(Notice the use of a period after that statement, something I seldom use here)
I just love the fact that he enjoyed sharing his internet findings with me,
that he carefully arranged these findings onto a disc
and delivered them to me on a regular basis....

So yea...I'm gonna get all reflective here over this month, or at least until my birthday passes,

(which is 25 days from today.....)

I'll be 30.

I don't WANT it to be a big deal, 

but I can't help but think about what I've done with myself over the past 29 years.......

So, as I sit here and think about the life I wanted when I was a little girl....

Is this the life I wanted when I was a little girl.....?

Not quite sure; 

nor do I care so much anymore,

I'm turning 30 in 25 days!

Days of worrying 'bout what baby breezy wanted are over!

Unless we can wrap our heads around all this multiple dimension talk, 

and travel back in time and whatnot,

we're not getting any younger here.....

As I type the date to this entry, I can't help but think back
to when I was a little girl imagining what the future would be like....

Sometimes I'm just in awe of the times we live in.....

Sorry, that was a tangent.....

So...back to ordinary is extraordinary-one thing that has not changed about yours truly-
my love for cute, furry living things- especially one in particular named Hunter,
to whom I refer to lovingly as chaton......

Yea I know, another drawing of me and my cat, whatever, I'm unemployed, okay????

...Over the weekend, I had a little accident...

Actually, it felt like more than a little accident, especially to someone like me,

I'm pretty good at avoiding injuries I must say...

Anywhoot, I got hit by a car on Friday as I was coming home from a jog.

I was pretty rattled, it could've been worse, but the damage (see below)

makes me look tough, in my opinion....

In addition to my bruises and abrasions,

I must say, I'm pretty fortunate to have such caring people in my life...

With all this time to think and self-reflect, 

I can't help but think about the way we put ourselves together 

every day...

our elements of our personal styles....

how style isn't really something you learn, but rather something inherent...

style, you got-ta have style...

That's what Mr. Maxwell used to say.

He was one of my English teachers in high school, 

probably the best one ever...

and obviously very cool and stylish....

That was his maxim and he reminded us of it regularly, 

by taking the pose below....

So I've decided to take a break from coffee,

not caffeine,

so tea has been my morning and afternoon beverage of choice....

And then I thought I'd read this book by Leonard Cohen,

and it was soooooo awful

I had to put it down....
